Lisa obtained a master's degree in Human Genetics from McGill University in Montreal. Before law school she worked with patents for several years while living in Japan. During her time at Maine Law, Lisa served as an Articles Editor for the Maine Law Review and worked in the intellectual property department for the Portland, Maine law firm Verrill Dana. Lisa has recently accepted a position working for Oblon Spivak, a law firm in the Washington D.C. area that specializes in intellectual property law. In 2010, Oblon Spivak was the first law firm to ever obtain over 5,000 U.S. patents in a single year, topping their own achievement in 2009. Her work will involve a combination of patent prosecution as well as patent litigation.

How the IP Clinic helped Lisa's career:
"I had a fair amount of patent experience before law school, but the IP clinic was helpful in providing an opportunity to work in trademark and copyright law, giving me a better-rounded resume that may have been helpful in landing my current position."
